BOARD HONOURS LORD WEIDENFELD

The President of the Board of Deputies together with the Honorary Officers and Sir Sigmund Sternberg, honoured Lord Weidenfeld at a 90th Birthday reception held at the Board offices this week.

Over 60 guests attended with tributes given to this philanthropic giant by Vivian Wineman, President of the Board of Deputies, Sir Sigmund Sternberg, and former Board President Dr Lionel Kopelowitz. Dr Kopelowitz said, “At 90 years, Lord Weidenfeld is as clear and forward thinking as ever. Indeed he continues to be one of the most influential figures in the Jewish community.

Vivian Wineman, President, Board of Deputies applauded Lord Weidenfeld, “we are privileged and delighted to be able to celebrate the milestone birthday of such an outstanding individual – a proud Jew, committed to the cultural life of this country as well as the political development of the Jewish community.”
